SONA

A method for the hour before sleep.

01  02  03

The hour
before sleep.

Sona gives the last hour of the day a shape — a nightly sequence that leads you down into sleep, rather than a remedy taken once you are already there.

01  02  03

A sequence,
not a score.

Each evening, a scent composition begins the ritual. The Dock diffuses it gradually while the app lowers the light and softens the sound. You arrive at sleep rather than chase it.

01  02  03

Tonight,
the first.

A few questions set the ritual.

SETUP — THE DOCK

Place the Dock
by the bed.

Set it where the evening already feels quieter — a bedside table, within reach, away from the day's screens. It will stay there. The ritual begins from this one spot.

SETUP — THE DOCK

Finding
the Dock.

Sona connects to the Dock directly, over Bluetooth — no account, no network. Keep the phone near the Dock for a moment.

SETUP — 01 / 03

here for?

SETUP — 02 / 03

When does your
evening begin?

SETUP — 03 / 03

How long is
the descent?

Most evenings settle around thirty minutes. The ten-minute setting is the same ritual, compressed — for the nights that got away from you.

This becomes your usual length. You can vary it for a single night from the ritual itself.

Last night,
No. 01.

Long Night, 30 minutes. The record is kept.

INDEX

Index.

INDEX — PAST NIGHTS

Past nights.

A record of the sequences you have used. Sona keeps the list and draws no conclusions from it.

INDEX — COMPOSITIONS

Compositions.

Seven scent compositions in the series. A cycle of 28 nights is drawn from these, weighted to what you set up for.

NO. 01

Long Night.

The first in the series, and the plainest. Long Night is for the evenings that will not close on their own — when the hour is late and the mind is still upright. It lengthens the descent, so that sleep is met rather than waited for.

The composition

Composed by Dr. Eve Marchetti, sleep physiologist, with the Sona studio. Edinburgh, 2026.

NO. 02

Still Mind.

For the nights when the body is tired but the mind keeps working — rehearsing tomorrow, re-reading today. Still Mind is the quietest composition in the series. It loosens the grip of attention, so the thinking slows of its own accord.

The composition

Composed by Dr. Eve Marchetti with the Sona studio. Edinburgh, 2026.

NO. 03

Across
Time Zones.

For the traveller whose body has landed before it has arrived. Across Time Zones works against the small disagreement between the clock on the wall and the clock within — a clear signal of which hour to believe.

The composition

Composed by Dr. Eve Marchetti with the Sona studio. Edinburgh, 2026.

NO. 04

After a
Hard Week.

For the Friday evening that has to undo five days at once. After a Hard Week is the fullest composition in the series — built for the accumulated kind of tiredness, the kind that is in the shoulders as much as the eyes.

The composition

Composed by Dr. Eve Marchetti with the Sona studio. Edinburgh, 2026.

NO. 05

The Early
Start.

For the night that has to end before the body wants it to — an early flight, an early room, a morning that begins in the dark. The Early Start compresses the evening cleanly, without weight, so sleep arrives ahead of its usual hour.

The composition

Composed by Dr. Eve Marchetti with the Sona studio. Edinburgh, 2026.

NO. 06

A Restless
Mind.

For the body that turns over and will not settle — when the tiredness is real but the nerves have not caught up with it. A Restless Mind is the softest composition in the series, built to quiet the body before the thoughts are even addressed.

The composition

Composed by Dr. Eve Marchetti with the Sona studio. Edinburgh, 2026.

NO. 07

Slow
Return.

For evenings when the day does not leave all at once — when work has ended but its hold has not. Slow Return is the most gradual composition in the series. It does not close the day quickly; it lets it recede, one quiet degree at a time.

The composition

Composed by Dr. Eve Marchetti with the Sona studio. Edinburgh, 2026.

SETTINGS

SETTINGS — NOTIFICATIONS

Notifications.

Two notifications, both operational — the nightly ritual reminder, and a notice when a cycle runs low. Nothing else: no encouragement, no streaks, no reminders to return.

SETTINGS — DATA AND PRIVACY

Data and
privacy.

Sona keeps your record of nights on this device. It is not uploaded, not analysed, and not shared — not with Sona, not with anyone.

DATA AND PRIVACY — THE RECORD

Your record.

The record is the list of nights Sona has kept. It is yours — take a copy, or remove it entirely.

THE RECORD — DELETE

Delete the
record?

Every night Sona has kept will be removed, and the app will return to its first evening. This cannot be undone.

THE RECORD

The record
is deleted.

Nothing is kept. Sona has returned to its first evening — the record will begin again whenever you are ready.

SETTINGS — THE DOCK

The Dock.

The Dock is paired to this phone over Bluetooth. It reconnects on its own each evening; nothing here needs attention unless the connection is lost.

Help and

Most evenings need none of this. It is here for the ones that do.

HELP — THE DOCK

If the Dock
won't respond.

Three steps, in order. Most connections return at the first.

If none of these settle it, the Dock may need attention. Contact Sona and someone will help.
